Acupuncture - The list of categories for which acupuncture may be effective in the treatment of, as recognised by WHO, include asthma, sinusitis, migraine, nausea (including post-operative), constipation, IBS, obesity and weight loss regimes, neck, shoulder, back or knee pain, arthritis, sciatica, fibromyalgia, ME, soft tissue or sports injuries, PMS, menopausal symptoms, eczema, psoriasis, depression, anxiety, stress and insomnia. Additionally, acupuncture can be used for relief from the addictions to smoking, alcohol or drugs. Initial consultation usually takes 1.5 hours with the fine, metallic needles are retained for 15 to 20 minutes during a treatment. Auricular (ear) acupuncture also available. Subsequent treatments usually take 1 hour.
Tui-Na massage - Manipulation of muscles and tendons using a series of designated techniques to assist with the healing effect of the body. Treatments are usually part of an acupuncture treatment.
Moxibustion - used to warm the body with the use of ignited mogwort herb, held 1 inch above the body.
Cupping - treatment using glass cups to create a vacuum. This treatment is useful for the removal of stagnation causing pain, and to increase the movement of blood within the body.
